Orders, Shipping & Returns

Orders can be made by:

Special Orders: Products not in stock can still be ordered. If you want to know the estimated time to receive the product, please contact us before placing your order. Typically it will take an extra three weeks for these items, but in some cases our suppliers may also be out of the item in which case you will be notified and given the option to wait, modify the order or receive a full refund.

Shipping

We ship primarily using Canada Post.  We can ship to some communities in Nunavut via Canadian North Airlines, but shipping minimums are $50 so this option is mostly for larger packages or when urgency is required. Shipping time varies widely, and can be as little as two days, but can take several weeks.

We aim to ship within 1-3 business days of payment. Date of delivery may vary due to carrier shipping practices, delivery location, method of delivery, and the items ordered. Products may also be delivered in separate shipments.

Our target market is Nunavut, but shipping is possible to all three territories and provinces without separate provincial sales taxes (Alberta, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces).

Nunavut: shipping will cost $25 per order plus any extra shipping charges for certain specific products. Extra shipping is only applied to products that have a large weight or volume that are particularly expensive to ship. Extra shipping charges will be identified clearly in the checkout process for customer review.

NWT, Yukon, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador: You will be able to get better shipping deals from more local suppliers. Having items brought north to Iqaluit and then shipped to other regions of Canada is not cheap, but this option is available primarily for specific items that customers have not been able to find in stock elsewhere. Shipping will cost $40 per order plus any extra shipping charges for certain specific products. Extra shipping is only applied to products that have a large weight or volume that are particularly expensive to ship. Extra shipping charges will be identified clearly in the checkout process for customer review.

All orders are subject to product availability. As a small business with a storefront as well as online sales, our online system does not have inventory controls and products may be out of stock due to in-store sales. If an item is not in stock at the time you place your order, we will notify you and you will have the choice to replace the product, be refunded for the cost of the product, or be refunded for the total amount of your order and the order cancelled. Refunds are made using the original method of payment.

If there is any damage to the packaging on delivery, contact us immediately and preferably before opening the damaged package.

Delivery in Iqaluit: For delivery in Iqaluit products must be pre-paid or paid by cash on delivery without need for change. Daytime delivery (9:00 – 16:00) is free of charge. Delivery will be within three days. For evening delivery a $5 delivery fee will be applied.

Returns

 We accept returns. You can return unopened items in the original packaging within 30 days of your purchase with receipt or proof of purchase.

Upon receipt of the returned item, we will fully examine it and notify you via email, within a reasonable period of time, whether you are entitled to a return. If you are entitled to a return, we will refund your purchase price and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment or credit maintained as a gift certificate for your use.

Sale items are refundable at the sale price with original receipt only, unless “clearance” or “non-refundable” are indicated on the item or the receipt, in which case refunds or exchanges will not be given. Special Ordered items cannot be returned.

For defective items, contact us before sending back to see if we will accept it. Defective products must be returned with a receipt. Normal wear and mistreatment are not eligible for refund or replacement. Replacement products will be shipped once a defect has been verified by Arctic Cotton. If a replacement is needed urgently it can be ordered and paid for and a refund will be given if the defect is verified by Arctic Cotton.

Refunds do not include any shipping and handling charges shown on the packaging slip or invoice. Shipping charges for all returns must be prepaid and insured by you. You are responsible for any loss or damage during shipment. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Any amounts refunded will not include the cost of shipping.
